This miracle is one of the most astounding acts of Jesus—second only to Lazarus being raised from the dead. Jesus walks on the water in the middle of a fierce storm on the Sea of Galilee, approaching disciples who are fighting for their lives in a small wooden boat. You can imagine their fear—convinced they might not survive and unsure of what God was doing in that moment.
Seen through a current‑day lens, the storm becomes a picture of the spiritual battles we face. We deal with physical suffering, emotional insecurity, mental uncertainty, grief, financial pressure, sickness, and even persecution. These forces push against God’s work in our lives and try to pull us off the path He set before us.
The storm reminds us of this truth: without Jesus, we cannot withstand what comes against us. We cannot stand alone or fight every test in our own strength. But with Christ near us, we can endure every storm we face.
